BIOGRAPHY

Crossroads is a musical project formed by Christophe Powers and Justin Gorun.  The duo got together to play music that they couldn't play in other bands.

Crossroads' set list is diverse, ranging from Jazz classics to modern pop, but the unifying theme is the unique flavor they add to the songs.  The signature style of Crossroads is to add touches of R&B, a little bit of jazz, some rock and a willingness to experiment.

Christophe Powers, Vocals

Christophe began singing gospel at the age of 5 under the influence of his two musician parents (mom a pianist and dad a vocalist and guitar player).  His lifelong love of music led him to private training in musical theater under a Juilliard graduate and 14 years under his vocal coach, Dr. Joseph Galema.

He has performed solo in front of crowds as large as 50,000, and was a performer onstage in a string of leading musical roles from 1994 through 2001. He also sang on national television, performing the theme song for Good Morning America for a live broadcast with the Air Force Academy Show Choir.  In addition, he has had the distinction of being chosen to perform for Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon, and the Air Force Chief of Staff.  Before Crossroads, he was the vocalist in the trio, DB and the po' boys and Old School Horn Band.  His biggest influences are the big band and jazz singers like Sinatra, Fitzgerald and Martin, Michael Ball of West End and Broadway fame, and modern day artists like Bublé.  He is currently also the lead singer of Vinyl & Groove out of Dunwoody, Georgia as well as the male vocalist for The Atlanta Blue Notes.

Justin Gorun, Guitar

Justin started playing guitar at age 12.  His musical ambitions took him to Berklee College of Music, and later Middle Tennessee State University.  He has played in a number of bands in styles including acoustic singer songwriter, hip hop, and alternative rock. In addition, he has worked as a freelance recording engineer and independent producer.

His influences are all over the musical map, ranging from the wild pyrotechnics of Eddie Van Halen to the jazz wizardry of Joe Pass and Tuck Andress.
